Description
Pure Meadow Mash packs all the goodness of hay into a high-fibre micro-pellet that soaks quickly into a soft, easy-to-chew mash. It provides the essential nutrients of hay but in a more convenient, palatable form, making it ideal for horses with dental issues or those struggling with hay. Free from molasses and wholegrain cereals, it’s low in sugar and starch, perfect for excitable horses or those needing a low-starch diet. The blend of high-quality fibre, prebiotics, and probiotics helps support digestive health, while the super fibres retain water, aiding hydration and fluid intake.
Designed to mimic the nutritional value of hay, Pure Meadow Mash is suitable for a variety of horses, from older horses with poor dentition to competition horses needing extra fibre and hydration. It can be used as a partial hay replacer, providing up to 1kg per 100kg bodyweight per day, and is easy to prepare in just 5 minutes. As it contains no added vitamins and minerals, it can be fed in higher quantities without causing any dietary imbalances. Whether used in buckets to mimic natural foraging behaviour or as a hay alternative, Pure Meadow Mash ensures your horse doesn’t miss out on essential fibre and hydration.

LOVED BY MANY
Gentle on teeth, big on fibre
Feeding a hay replacer like Pure Meadow Mash provides consistent, known levels of sugar and starch, unlike hay where these levels can vary. This makes it a great option for horses needing a controlled diet. It’s perfect for horses with poor teeth, dust allergies, or those needing a reliable feed before frosty mornings, as it’s easy to chew, gentle on the digestive system, and can be quickly soaked for convenience.

Yes, horses can develop laminitis from high-sugar or high-starch hay, especially in lush pasture or hay made from grasses that have a high sugar content. For horses at risk, it’s important to feed low-sugar hay and monitor their diet carefully to avoid triggers.
A great alternative forage option is Pure Meadow Mash. It’s a low-calorie and low-sugar feed designed as a hay replacer, making it ideal for horses prone to laminitis. Its combination of natural ingredients helps to support digestive health and provides a safe, nutritious option for horses needing a reduced sugar diet, especially in winter when fresh grass is not available.
